Role Purpose
The Community Fellowship Coordinator will play a vital role in strengthening communities by coordinating programmes, events, and initiatives that bring people together, promote wellbeing, and encourage active participation in community life. They will focus on enhancing discipleship, fellowship, and community activities at Lifegate Community Centre. Working closely with the Head of Community Engagement, the postholder will support spiritual growth, pastoral care, and fellowship opportunities while organising programmes and events that empower individuals, families, and the broader community.
The Coordinator will contribute to Lifegate’s mission of “Imparting Abundant Life” by helping people connect through worship, prayer, and community outreach, ensuring the Centre remains a trusted and inclusive space for spiritual and personal development.
Main Role
1. Develop and deliver programmes that encourage people from diverse backgrounds to engage in community activities.
2. Support initiatives that reduce social isolation and improve wellbeing (e.g., coffee mornings, workshops, social clubs, cultural events.
3. Support the delivery of daily prayer meetings, Bible studies, and weekly worship services.
4. Prepare and deliver sermons, devotionals, or fellowship talks when required.
5. Provide pastoral support and guidance to members and residents in times of need.
6. Encourage participation across all age groups, with particular focus on youth, women, and families.
7. Assist in the design and facilitation of small groups and discipleship activities.
8. Work with the Head of Community Engagement to develop programmes that build trust and strengthen relationships between the Centre and local residents.
9. Organise monthly events (online and offline) that promote fellowship, knowledge-sharing, and inclusion.
10. Coordinate activities for young people and women that enhance wellbeing, personal growth, and community belonging.
11. Partner with service providers to signpost community members to relevant support (e.g., health, housing, employment

13. Act as a visible and approachable point of contact for community residents.
14. Collaborate with staff and volunteers to deliver community programmes and large-scale public events.
15. Use surveys, feedback tools, and observation to identify needs and opportunities within the community.
16. Promote the Centre’s activities through social media, website updates, newsletters, and local outreach.
17. Ensure safeguarding, equality, GDPR, and health & safety processes are followed in all activities.
18. Contribute to community impact reporting, curriculum development, and training initiatives as part of the Centre’s wider mission.

Person Specification
• A committed Christian with a personal faith and active involvement in ministry (Occupational Requirement under Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9).
• Experience preaching, teaching, and leading worship.
• Strong pastoral care skills and ability to build fellowship within a faith community.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills across diverse groups.
• Knowledge of safeguarding and commitment to inclusivity.
• Experience in community engagement, social work, voluntary sector coordination and delivering church-based events..
• Ability to plan and manage events or projects.
• Cultural awareness and ability to work with diverse groups.
• Strong IT skills (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, database management).
• Experience preparing reports, evaluations, or funding proposals.
