Our client has a requirement for a Project Engineer / Contracts Engineer, who will be required to work on a permanent basis in Stafford, UK. Role Purpose: Support the delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects at a key UK utilities site. Coordinate plant design, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities in line with contract schedules. Assist the Senior Project Manager in managing costs, contracts, and technical delivery. Ensure documentation, payments, and programme updates are submitted accurately and on time. Build and maintain strong client, subcontractor, and supplier relationships throughout the project lifecycle. Job Role Responsibilities: Maintain project cost control, ensuring alignment with budgets and variations. Ensure contract documentation, monthly forecasts, and payment applications are completed to schedule. Support the development and monitoring of project programmes and reporting deliverables. Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure coordinated and timely project delivery. Contribute to O&M manual preparation and final handover documentation. Support procurement processes and supply chain management. Ensure compliance with CDM regulations and Health & Safety best practices. Identify risks and opportunities and contribute to monthly project reviews. Assist in producing safe and maintainable design solutions. Represent the project team positively and professionally in all stakeholder communications. Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications: HNC or higher in Engineering or a related technical field (essential). Engineering background with experience in water, wastewater, or utility infrastructure projects. Familiarity with NEC contracts and contract administration. Knowledge of CDM regulations and project Health & Safety compliance. Strong procurement, subcontractor management, and cost control skills. Ability to interpret and coordinate engineering drawings, schedules, and specifications. Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and team collaboration skills. Professional qualification (e.g., ICE, CIOB) is desirable.
