About the Role:
Our Pensions Advisory business continues to grow and we are now looking for an Actuarial Assistant to join one of our vibrant offices in Leeds, Reading, Bristol, Manchester, Guildford, Edinburgh, Belfast or Birmingham with hybrid working. This is an exciting opportunity for a nearly or newly qualified actuary to work on a wide range of actuarial projects and client engagements. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality advice and analysis to trustees and corporate clients, supporting scheme valuations, accounting disclosures, and de-risking exercises.
1. Attend client meetings and present actuarial findings where appropriate.
2. Review actuarial calculations including valuations, accounting disclosures, and individual benefits.
3. Interpret results to advise on contribution rates, liability reduction, and risk management strategies.
4. Draft reports, emails, and presentations to communicate actuarial advice.
5. Support member communications and respond to individual queries.
6. Manage client work allocation and ensure timely delivery of tasks.
7. Maintain technical knowledge of regulations, codes of practice, and actuarial standards.
8. Contribute to internal training and process improvement initiatives.
Your Profile
Essential
9. Nearly or newly qualified actuary with experience in the pensions industry.
10. Strong understanding of UK pension scheme operations and legislation.
11. Excellent planning and time management skills.
12. Clear and confident communicator, able to explain complex issues simply.
13. Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
14. Proactive approach to learning and development.
Desirable
15. Experience working with trustees and corporate sponsors.
16. Familiarity with bulk annuity transactions or incentive exercises.
Qualifications:
Nearly or newly qualified actuary (IFoA or equivalent).
