Lung Cancer Target Administrative Support

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated administrator to join the Respiratory Department in Ipswich Hospital.
We are looking for a dynamic, flexible and enthusiastic team player to integrate with the current team and provide an efficient and effective support service to the Lung Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist, Clinicians, patients & medical secretaries. The ideal candidate will have attention to detail, excellent communication skills and the ability to prioritise and plan. You must be able to work using your own initiative and be flexible to work where the need is greatest. You should have a good level of clerical experience and good working knowledge of IT systems although full training in the use of our systems will be provided.
In this department you will be fully supported by management with regular training and development to help further your career.
Current ESNEFT employees will be offered on a Secondment basis only.
Main duties of the job
* Supporting the Lung Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist in the delivery of the 28 Day Fast Diagnosis National Standard
* Work with the Lung Cancer Pathway Navigator to ensure timely processing of the cancer pathways
* Working with the Respiratory Multidisciplinary Team
* Perform routine tasks on own initiative
* Update patient pathway following clinic appointment
* Manage the non‑admitted PTL
* Manage the Cancer PTL
* Answer telephone and deal with enquiries, convey messages
* Ad‑hoc duties as delegated by Department Lead

Person Specification
Qualifications
* GCSE grade 5/C or equivalent in English and Maths
* NVQ level 3 in administration/secretarial or equivalent experience
Experience
* Previous administrative role
* Working collaboratively as part of a team
* Advanced IT Systems including Microsoft Office
* Experience of communicating with a range of people both within and external to the organisation
* NHS experience
* Experience within relevant work area
* Experience of working with members of the public
* Supervision/co‑ordination of other team members
Knowledge
* Confidentiality and Data Protection
* NHS Knowledge of relevant work area
