Vehicle Technician, up to £25.00 per hour, Automotive R&D, Commutable from Coventry, Hinckley, Leicester, Birmingham, Rugby
* Fantastic opportunity to work within a state-of-the-art automotive research and development facility.
* 12-month contract role, up to £25.00 per hour (Inside IR35 basis).
* Role would suit somebody with experience of working within a Vehicle Technician, Test Technician, Workshop Technician, Mechanical Technician, Electrical Technician or similar engineering role.
* Automotive / vehicle engineering experience is advantageous.
This Vehicle Technician role supports the delivery of automotive R&D test programmes, through the preparation, set‑up and operation of test facilities, equipment and instrumentation within a busy, test engineering environment.
Your background as a Vehicle Technician:
* Level 4 qualification in a relevant automotive engineering or wider engineering discipline e.g. HND, HNC, City & Guilds, BTEC, or NVQ.
* Previous experience working in a test, workshop, mechanical, electrical, or electronic engineering environment.
* Previous experience working in an automotive engineering / vehicle engineering environment would be advantageous.
* You will have a general hands-on mechanical / electrical aptitude, careful working style, and a strong safety mindset.
* Be able to use Microsoft Office IT systems competently.
* A full UK Driving licence is required.
Vehicle Technician responsibilities:
* Working within a state of the art automotive research and development facility alongside Engineers and Technicians to prepare vehicles, test rigs, and test facilities for tests.
* Install, configure, and validate test instrumentation and equipment to vehicles to enable accurate data capture.
* Vehicle trim removal and refit.
* Diagnose and troubleshoot any issues with test equipment to ensure readiness for testing.
* Handle test data for Engineers to review.
* Follow defined test processes, procedures, and quality standards to ensure high-quality testing.
