This role will suit someone with sound mechanical knowledge that is looking to spend less time on-site, whilst still keen to use their expertise to help solve customers technical problems.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
1. Diagnose and resolve technical/mechanical faults
2. Provide effective technical telephone support to distributors and end users, investigating issues and following up with all user queries
3. Offer technical support to all internal staff
4. Take ownership of customer complaints and bring to satisfactory resolution
5. Occasionally carry out external repairs and servicing when required
6. Process warranty returns to agreed procedures
7. Ad hoc projects as assigned by the Customer Service Manager
8. Carry out any other reasonable tasks as required
Skills and Experience
9. Hands on Mechanical / Engineering experience is essential
10. Sound & in depth mechanical/engineering Knowledge
11. Mechanically & electrically proficient
12. Excellent telephone manner with the ability to communicate effectively
13. Ability to work accurately under pressure and meet deadlines
14. High degree of attention to detail
15. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
16. Must be self-motivating.
17. Good IT skills with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office / Windows
Desirable Experience
18. The ideal candidate will have a background in technical support, ideally in the engineering sector
19. Compressor, Welding, Metal Cutting knowledge would be a huge advantage but not essential
20. Customer Services experience is advantageous, if dealing directly with customers by phone or face to face
