About the Role
The Lola Yamaha ABT Formula E Team competes in the FIA Formula E World Championship, combining Lola Cars' motorsport heritage, Yamaha’s technology, and ABT Sportsline's racing expertise.
We seek a driven Junior Performance Engineer to support our growing team. This role is ideal for a young engineer eager to develop into a trackside performance role, working across simulation, Mission Control operations, and tool development with a clear progression path.
Key Responsibilities
* Support simulator sessions and live race operations (initially in Mission Control)
* Analyze simulation, simulator, and car data to provide performance recommendations
* Assist senior engineers during race events with real-time analysis and feedback
* Develop and maintain performance tools using Python, MATLAB, VBA, or similar
* Present data-driven insights to the engineering team
Candidate Profile
Required:
* Minimum 1 year of experience in motorsport performance engineering (e.g., F2, F3, or similar)
* Solid knowledge of vehicle dynamics and motorsport engineering principles
* Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
* Proficiency with motorsport data tools, ideally ATLAS
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Nice to Have:
* Experience with simulation environments like Canopy
* Programming skills in Python, MATLAB, or VBA
Education & Background
* Degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Electrical, or Motorsport Engineering or related field
* Proactive, curious, and initiative-taker
* Strong desire to learn and progress into a senior engineering role
