Overview
We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. This role requires proficiency in various accounting software and a strong understanding of bookkeeping principles.
Duties
* Processing payments, invoices, income and receipts and entering data into accounting software or databases then filing hard copies
* Helping the Accountant with administrative duties and preparing yearly accounts
* Preparing financial statements showing business income and expenditure
* Paying vendor invoices and tracking bank account balances
* Completing VAT returns
* Verifying the accuracy of business accounts and alerting the Accountant of errors
* Recording any inconsistencies to help the Accountants reconcile inaccuracies
* Developing monthly financial statements including cash flow, profit and loss and balance sheets
* Preparing employee wages
* Managing employee expense claims
* Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, or similar platforms.
* Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and bookkeeping principles.
* Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data.
* Good communication skills, both written and verbal, for liaising with team members and stakeholders.
