Location: Home-Based (with regular UK travel to suppliers and contract manufacturers)

The Role
We are looking for an experienced Operations Manager in the food industry (drinks preferred) to take ownership of our supply chain and production coordination. This role requires a hands-on approach to forecasting, purchasing, supplier management, production scheduling and logistics, to support the company’s ambitious growth plans across a core range of products and an exciting program of NPD.
Key Responsibilities
•Forecasting & Planning– Work with sales and finance teams to predict demand and ensure appropriate stock levels.
•Purchasing & Supplier Management– Place purchase orders, manage supplier relationships, and negotiate terms.
•Production Coordination– Liaise with three contract manufacturing sites, ensuring smooth production schedules and compliance with food industry regulations.
•Logistics & Warehousing– Liaise with team to manage the movement of goods from manufacturing to our 3PL partners, ensuring efficiency and cost control.
•Technical Compliance– Ensure products meet food safety, regulatory, and quality requirements.
•Systems & Process Implementation– Assist in the implementation of Unleashed Software (preferred experience) to improve stock control and reporting.
•Continuous Improvement– Identify cost-saving opportunities and operational efficiencies.
•Travel– Regular travel to suppliers, contract manufacturers, and warehouse sites as required.
Essential Requirements
•Experience in the Food Industry– Minimum 3+ years in the food industry, ideally with drinks experience. •Operational Expertise– Background in supply chain, logistics, purchasing, and production management. •Problem-Solving & Project Management– Ability to troubleshoot issues and drive process improvements. •Strong Commercial & Analytical Skills– Experience in managing COGS, procurement, and compliance. •Experience Working with Co-Packers & Suppliers– Understanding of outsourced production models. •Familiarity with Food Industry Regulations– Including compliance, food law, and sustainability considerations.
Desirable Experience
•New Product Development (NPD)– Experience in sourcing, procurement, and production of new products. •Unleashed Software Knowledge– Experience with Unleashed or similar inventory management tools. •Sustainability & Compliance– Knowledge of EPR/DRS, carbon emissions, and sustainable supply chain practices.
Ideal location for the role would be South/Midlands.
