Job Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, motivated and driven individual to join the Medicine CPG in Ysbyty Gwynedd. The post of Assistant Service Support Manager is a secondment for 5 months due to maternity cover. If you are interested in applying for the secondment position, you must obtain permission from your current line manager prior to applying for this post.

Main duties of the job

The role of the Assistant Service Support Manager is to provide comprehensive administrative support to the Specialty Manager/Lead Manager, by collecting, recording, analysing, interpreting and reporting of statistical data required to monitor compliance with Welsh Government targets.

The Assistant Service Support Manager will assist the Specialty Manager/Lead Manager in ensuring that there is adequate Medical and administrative staffing cover to allow for the smooth running of the department; therefore management experience is preferred for this role.

The role involves being an integral member of the CPG operational team, coordinating, organising, attending and administering a number of meetings.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh applicants are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications

Essential criteria

* Degree level qualification or equivalent experience
* Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and experience of the full range of IT systems to include Microsoft applications ECDL or willingness to undertake

Desirable criteria

* Sufficient NHS experience


Experience

Essential criteria

* Computer literate and experienced in Word, spreadsheets and databases
* Previous experience in an organisational and administrative setting
* Numerate and confident in working with figures
* Experience of working in teams

Desirable criteria

* Previous NHS experience
* Previous experience working with clinical staff
* Ability to learn and understand medical terminology
* Previous involvement in clinical audit
