The Recruitment and Attraction team supports the council with all their recruitment needs. As a large organisation with many different services—including Rangers, Lawyers, and Social Workers—a significant part of this role involves promoting who we are, what we do, and what we offer as an employer.
A key aspect of this promotion is social media, used to share a human, fun, and consistent image of the council. We need your help to understand what content works, what doesn’t, and to create engaging content for sharing.
In return, you will gain experience working within a local authority and an office environment. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with teams across the council, gaining insight into the council’s functions and offerings. We also support your understanding of social media and digital marketing in a professional context.
During your one-week placement, you will have the opportunity to:
1. Assist in managing our recruitment social media accounts (e.g., Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, Instagram).
2. Research new and emerging digital marketing approaches, evaluate their suitability, and suggest innovative ideas.
3. Plan and create content to be shared on our recruitment social media platforms.
4. Analyze our platforms to assess the effectiveness of content, share insights, and recommend improvements.
