Overview
We are looking to recruit a newly qualified GP finishing their CCT this year, for 6 sessions per week over 3 days. You would be joining a supportive, high-performing, and friendly team who are passionate about delivering modern, efficient primary care while maintaining the traditional values of general practice. Our newly refurbished surgery, including modernised consulting rooms, provides an excellent working environment for both patients and staff. We serve a practice population of over 11,520 patients and offer specialist services including microsuction and a range of womens health services such as coil and implant clinics.
We offer 15-minute consultations and have a low home visit rate. We have 3 GP Trainers on site, and we regularly host F2 and ST trainees. We embrace new technologies and innovations to support accessible, high-quality care.
Main duties of the job

We are a friendly, well-run, and supportive GMS practice located in the beautiful West Sussex countryside, serving the market town of Horsham. The town offers excellent transport links to London and the South Coast, high-quality schools, and easy access to the South Downs National Park. We are a team of 24 dedicated staff, including 2 GP Partners, 3 Salaried GPs, a Clinical Pharmacist, 2 Advanced Nurse Practitioners and 2 Practice Nurses. Job responsibilities
* Provide high quality patient care including prevention, screening, treatment, management of chronic conditions and health promotion
* Develop care and treatment plans in consultation with patients and in line with current Practice protocols as well as wider guidance e.g. NICE
* Carry out surgery, telephone and video consultations and undertake home visits
* Speak and see patients promptly and in a timely manner to minimise waiting times
* Ensure appropriate follow up of patients
* Generate, check and sign acute and repeat prescriptions in-line with practice policy
* Transfer patients, where appropriate, to the repeat dispensing system
* Liaise with other team members and organisations involved in patient care and respond promptly to queries
* Investigate and refer patients as appropriate in line with current guidance
* Deal promptly with results and correspondence, clearly communicating any actions that are required
* Provide cover as needed for all of the above when other GPs are on leave
* When providing care ensure the judicious use of resources and NHS funds
* Keep clear and contemporaneous computerised consultation notes and patient records to agreed standards and in-line with practice policies
* Collect data for audit and QoF purposes
* Prescribe generically whenever appropriate and in accordance with the Practice formulary, commissioning and national guidance
* Maintain high levels of communication with patients and carers to ensure effective delivery of care

Person Specification
Qualifications
* A vocational trained and accredited GP, preferably MRCGP
* Current registration with the GMC
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
* Ability to work with limited supervision
* IT proficiency and familiarity with primary care clinical systems (the practice uses TPP SystmOne)
* Excellent time keeping
* Exceptional team player
* Good understanding of GMS contracting requirements and QoF
* Experience and an interest in a specific disease area
