Business Information Security Officer (BISO) – Dental & Care
Location: London, Staines, or Salford Quays. Employment type: Permanent – Full time - Hybrid.

As a Business Information Security Officer (BISO), you’ll play a key role in protecting the services that support thousands of patients and residents across our Dental and Care businesses. You’ll act as the senior link between the business and our central security team, turning security strategy into clear, practical decisions that help teams deliver safely and confidently. You’ll also provide insight on emerging cyber risks, helping the business stay resilient in a fast‑moving environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Take ownership of information security and technology risk across the Dental and Care business units.
* Build strong working relationships with senior stakeholders across business and technology teams.
* Guide how risks are identified, prioritised, managed, or escalated.
* Act as the senior escalation point for complex or high‑risk issues.
* Represent security and risk positions in senior forums, clearly explaining options and impacts.
* Help balance delivery priorities with security and risk considerations.
* Keep up to date with emerging cyber threats and trends, sharing insights with the business.
* Support a positive culture where security and risk decisions are clear, transparent, and well understood.
* Lead, coach, and develop team members to support their growth and performance.
* Make sure strong risk management practices are in place and aligned to regulations.
What We’re Looking For
* Experience in cyber security or technology risk within a large organisation.
* Strong knowledge of security frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, or similar).
* Good understanding of key cyber security areas such as cloud security, access control, data protection, and incident response.
* Confidence working with senior stakeholders and influencing decision‑making.
* Ability to explain complex security topics in a clear and simple way (avoiding jargon where possible).
* Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
* Experience leading or developing teams.
* Recognised qualification such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC, or equivalent experience.
