Senior Locally Employed Doctor in Gastroenterology

This 12‑month whole‑time equivalent position is based at Wythenshawe Hospital, Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. It is for a registrar (ST) level in the Department of Gastroenterology, rotating equitably with other team members. The department offers comprehensive secondary and tertiary GI services, including endoscopy, EUS, capsule endoscopy, ERCP and functional bowel disorder care with a neuro‑gastroenterology laboratory.
The post will be for a Locum Appointment for Services (LAS) in gastro‑GIM. The appointee will join a team of eight gastroenterologists and work alongside consultants providing tertiary endoscopy services, acquiring new skills in a supportive learning environment. Duties include performing diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic modalities, attending ward rounds, supporting a research programme, and participating in a GIM on‑call rota to develop acute medical skills.
Applications must be supported by evidence of GMC registration and demonstrate commitment to attaining MRCP. Candidates who are non‑GMC registered at the point of application may be considered under the Trust’s International Fellowship Scheme (fee £500).
