Level 3 SEN Teaching Assistant (1:1 ASC Support – Y4 Pupil)

PK Education are currently recruiting for a committed and experienced Level 3 SEN Teaching Assistant to work on a one-to-one basis with a Year 4 child with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) in a welcoming primary school in Sheffield.
This is a full-time role to start in September 2025 and will offer a rewarding opportunity to make a real impact on a child’s learning and development.
The Role:
Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Y4 pupil with ASC, adapting activities and the learning environment to meet their individual needs.
Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider staff to implement and review personalised learning strategies and support plans.
Support the child’s academic progress, social interaction, and emotional wellbeing throughout the school day.
Assist with managing transitions, behaviour, and any sensory or communication needs.
Promote independence, confidence, and a positive attitude to learning.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
A Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent).
Recent experience supporting children with ASC, preferably on a 1:1 basis.
Strong understanding of autism-friendly approaches and differentiated teaching strategies.
Patience, empathy, and the ability to build trusting relationships with pupils and staff.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
A proactive and adaptable attitude, ready to meet the individual needs of the child.
