Join to apply for the Business Design Lead role at West Sussex County Council
As a Business Designer, you will play a lead role in shaping and delivering innovative service transformation that improve outcomes for our residents. You will bring experience in strategic design thinking, as well as change management and business analytics, to co‑design services that are customer‑centred, future ready, and financially sustainable.
You will bring together key stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams to help us better understand complex needs, problems and opportunities, working on the design and development of new innovative solutions and business models. With a focus on end‑to‑end thinking, this role will include using information and user research to map and redesign processes and customer journeys, collaborating on service design and digital solutions to create operating models, services and solutions that drive value.
You’ll be highly organised, analytical, and proactive, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and uncertainty in a complex environment.
What are we looking for?
* Experience of a range of design approaches, including focussed design, change management, understanding of processes and systems thinking
* Experience of leading and working as part of a multi-disciplinary team including matrix management
* Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, particularly in complex and pressured environments
Salary: £55,057 to £58,829 per annum
Contract type: 2-year fixed term or secondment opportunity
Working Pattern: Full time, 37 hours per week
Location: Your office base will be County Hall, Chichester and a typical week will combine homeworking with attendance at the office. This is led by the needs of the service.
