Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Postal Delivery Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the timely and efficient delivery of mail and packages to designated routes.
This role requires a strong commitment to customer service, attention to detail, and the ability to manage various tasks while adhering to safety protocols.
Duties
Deliver mail and packages to residential and commercial addresses within assigned routes.
Operate delivery vehicles safely and efficiently, ensuring compliance with all traffic regulations.
Sort and organise mail prior to delivery, ensuring accuracy in the distribution process.
Communicate effectively with customers regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise.
Perform basic vehicle maintenance checks to ensure safe operation of the delivery vehicle.
Handle heavy lifting of parcels as required, maintaining proper lifting techniques to avoid injury.
Maintain accurate records of deliveries and returns, reporting any discrepancies as necessary.
Experience
Previous experience as a delivery driver is highly desirable, particularly in a commercial driving capacity.
Familiarity with warehouse operations is beneficial, including skills in sorting and handling various types of packages.
Strong communication skills are essential for interacting with customers and resolving any delivery-related queries.
A valid driving licence is required, with a clean driving record preferred.
