The Opportunity\nA leading Tier 1 civil engineering contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Contracts Manager to take ownership of a portfolio of projects across the water, energy, and environmental sectors. With long-term secured frameworks in place across the UK and a strong presence in the Yorkshire region, this is an exciting opportunity to lead impactful schemes that enhance infrastructure, the environment, and local communities.\n\nThe company has a long-standing delivery partnership with a major regional water authority and is well-positioned heading into the AMP8 period, with a healthy pipeline of secured work that will keep delivery teams active for years to come.\n\nAbout the Role\n As Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for managing the full project lifecycle on a portfolio of civil engineering schemes. Projects may range from the restoration of reservoirs to the installation of modern water treatment systems or nature-based flood defence and biodiversity solutions.\n\nYou'll provide strategic oversight, ensure operational consistency across sites, and lead a team of Site Managers, Engineers, and other project staff to ensure safe, efficient, and successful delivery.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nLead and motivate a team of Site Managers to ensure consistent performance across multiple live sites\n\nEmbed company culture, safety standards, and operational processes across all schemes\n\nEnsure compliance with all regulatory, commercial, and quality standards\n\nDrive commercial and programme performance across your portfolio\n\nFacilitate continuous improvement, mentoring, and professional development within the team\n\nLiaise with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders to ensure project success from inception to completion\n\nWhat You'll Need\n\nCSCS card and SSSTS or SMSTS certification\n\nHNC or Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent hands-on experience)\n\nStrong understanding of civil engineering practices across water, environmental or infrastructure sectors\n\nSound knowledge of NEC3 or NEC4 contracts\n\nExcellent organisational and problem-solving abilities\n\nClear and effective communication skills at all levels\n\nA valid UK driving licence and flexibility to travel across your operational region\n\nWhat's in it for You\n In addition to long-term career stability and the opportunity to work on meaningful infrastructure projects, the business offers:\n\nA bespoke progression pathway with regular support and review\n\nInvestment in your training and development, including support toward professional chartership\n\nA competitive salary package with car allowance and flexible benefits\n\nAccess to lifestyle, health, and wellbeing perks that you can tailor to your needs\n\nHow to Apply\n If you're a proven Contracts Manager with experience in civil engineering and a desire to lead high-impact projects across Yorkshire and beyond, we'd love to hear from you
