Michael Page Engineering Design are now partnering with Victoria Plumb to recruit the newly created role of Design Leader.

Job Description

As Design Leader you will take responsibility for the day‑to‑day delivery of practical design advice and actual designs to the customer base. You will also be responsible for helping to implement a design culture within the business delivering basic design education to customer facing teams and the wider business as a whole. You will work with the central creative team to develop the Victoria Plumb design approach and help educate everyone involved in how to implement it.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Lead, develop and inspire Victoria Plumb's customer facing team in design, with particular emphasis on the contact centre design team.
• Via your management team, plan and co‑ordinate design activities to ensure understanding, effective and efficient design operations.
• Develop design education programs that convey the Victoria Plumb approach to home design looks and style. You will then execute the delivery of this for both internal teams at all levels of the business as well as the customer base.
• Drive a continuous improvement programme, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
• Ensuring an effective people resourcing plan is in place and implemented to meet growing demands of the business as the business expands.
• Implement and deliver effective communication strategies, to ensure all colleagues/suppliers are engaged and that planning requirements, performance information, company news and procedures are communicated to all.

The Successful Applicant

To be considered for the role of Design Leader you will be experienced with the following points.

• Degree educated in a creative design qualification - Industrial, Furniture, Interiors, Product etc.
• Design experience in a high volume operation, preferably supplying into retail or similar. Experienced in a creative product environment. These sectors may include Interior Products such as Hotels, Retail, Point of Sale, Kitchens, Bathrooms, etc. Alternatively Holiday Homes, Luxury Lodges, Modular Homes or Buildings, Architecture, Boat Building will be considered.
• Have the ability to work with, lead and train a highly skilled team of Interior Designers.
• Demonstrate previous experience of managing change & process improvement projects.
• Excellent people management skills and the ability to develop guide and engage a team to deliver effective results.
• Able to develop effective working relationships with the team and customers.
