Finance Business Analyst – Finance Transformation
London (Hybrid – 3 days per week in the office)

We’re working with a leading Insurance organisation to recruit a Finance Business Analyst into a high‑visibility, role within their Finance function.
This is a key hire: the first permanent Business Analyst in Finance, brought in to address a growing change backlog and shape how Finance Change operates going forward.
The Opportunity
You’ll join a small but impactful Finance team, working closely with Finance Operations, Product Managers, Engineering, and senior stakeholders to drive meaningful transformation across finance systems and processes.
The immediate focus is on a PEGA-based Finance Operations platform, but the scope is broader and evolving — covering finance systems, regulatory change, automation, and emerging AI-enabled capabilities.
This is not a purely delivery-focused BA role. You’ll be expected to:
* Shape requirements, not just document them
* Challenge and refine business needs
* Work closely with Solution Architects and delivery teams
* Help Finance stakeholders understand options, trade-offs, and benefits
* What You’ll Be Doing
o Acting (initially) as the stand‑alone Business Analyst within Finance until the team grow
o Eliciting and shaping requirements from Finance users (AP, AR, Treasury, Operational Finance)
o Translating priorities into clear, high-quality user stories for sprint delivery
o Supporting Agile delivery (Scrum / sprint-based ways of working)
o Improving workflows and reducing manual, Excel-heavy processes
o Supporting system upgrades with a focus on value, not “like-for-like” change
Contributing to initiatives such as:
o Reducing the financial close cycle
o Digitisation and automation of finance processes
o New regulatory requirements
o Finance platform evolution and AI adoption

What We’re Looking ForEssential
o Proven experience as a Business Analyst
o Solid background in Finance change / Finance transformation
o Strong communication and presence — able to:
o Operate independently
o Engage confidently from “coalface” users to senior leadership
o Experience working in Agile / sprint-based environments
o MUST have worked within Financial Services
* Strongly Preferred
o Insurance experience is ideal
Nice to Have
o PEGA experience
o Exposure to finance platforms (e.g. payments, treasury, consolidation, reporting tools)
o Formal finance qualifications
