The role
As a Senior Systems Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Working within our Engineering Services team within Mission Systems, you will work in a fast paced and exciting role, driving innovative Reconnaissance and Intelligence (ISR) solutions through the design, build, integration, and acceptance phases, arriving at a solution or product that meets customer needs.

Day-to-day, you’ll work collaboratively in a team of multi discipline engineers, subject matter experts and directly with the customer. This is an exciting and highly rewarding role with visible contributions to the defence capability of the UK.
1. Provision of Life Cycle Management including an understanding of life cycle (V Model for SE) and how it alignment with systems/product life cycles
2. Delivery of systems engineering activities in accordance with the Top-Level Engineering Management Plan (EMP) and ITEA Strategy, from requirements capture through to delivery to the customer.
3. Own all SE artifacts for your assigned work packages, including development of engineering plans in conjunction with the technical lead for your work packages.
4. Applying best placed SE practice and systems thinking to develop solutions tailored to meet requirements. Managing interfaces and trade-offs between systems, sub systems, functions, and requirements.
5. Creating and presenting technical engineering documents and supporting reviews.
6. Creation of requirements from Customer requirements through to sub-systems.
This role is full time, 37 hours per week and is based on site at our Ashchurch facility, near Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire.
Essential experience of the Senior Systems Engineer
7. A experienced Systems Engineer with knowledge of electrical sub-system design
8. Proven experience in Holistic Life Cycle Management with balanced competencies across the SE Discipline. A good understanding of cross domain and cross boundary requirements and interface.
9. Practitioner in Determining and Managing Stakeholder Requirements, Life Cycle Tailoring, Verification, Validation and Transition to Operation.
10. Experience in developing and owning the Validation Verification Requirements Matrix (VVRM).
11. It would be beneficial to have knowledge of Cybersecurity, Electronic warfare, Spectrum Management, and system integration.
Qualifications for the Senior Systems Engineer
12. Ideally you will hold a degree or equivalent within an Engineering Discipline however, we value difference and don’t have a fixed idea when it comes to background or education, provided you can show the required level of experience and/or willingness to learn then we would like to hear from you.

The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) and Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance for this role.
