The Role
We’re looking for some friendly and reliable Personal Care Assistants to support an 18‑year‑old wheelchair‑using woman with complex needs. He has a rare genetic condition, dystonia, unvoluntary movements, severe scoliosis, a dislocated hip, coeliac disease, is PEG‑fed but also eats orally, and is nonverbal. She uses an AAC device to communicate and is studying for A levels. She enjoys cinema, bowling, boccia, theatre, shopping, football matches, and more.
Main Duties
* Assisting with personal care tasks such as bathing, toileting and dressing
* Hoisting
* Manual handling
* Peg tube feeding and oral feeding
* Administrate medications
* Allergies
* Emergency protocol (illness)
* Accompanying to social activities and other outings
* Providing emotional support and companionship
Personal Qualities and Attributes required
* Previous experience in a caregiving role is preferred but not essential.
* Experience with SEN is preferred but not essential.
* Be able to drive a wheelchair‑accessible vehicle.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Patience, empathy, good sense of humour and a positive and fun attitude.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Reliable and punctual.
Employment Details
Hours: Saturdays, Sundays, evenings and school holidays – start and finish times to be discussed (flexible). Weekdays available from June 2026.
Pay: £17.48 per hour.
Job type: Part time.
