We are looking for an experienced Electrical Technician to support the maintenance, repair and safe operation of plant and equipment across our Kings Lynn port. Reporting to the Engineering Supervisor, you’ll carry out electrical maintenance, inspections and fault-finding to ensure our equipment remains compliant, reliable and efficient.
Key Responsibilities
7. Carry out planned and reactive electrical maintenance on port equipment, including mobile cranes, FLT’s, front-end bucket loaders and conveyor systems.
8. Complete pre-work checks, follow technical procedures and maintain equipment compliance.
9. Support electrical installations and civil-based electrical works across the estate.
10. Fault-find and safely reinstate plant and equipment.
11. Work safely at all times, contributing to risk assessments, safe systems of work and toolbox talks.
12. Collaborate with Engineering team members, contractors and operational colleagues.
13. Provide guidance to Semi-Skilled Engineers and Apprentices.
Essential Requirements
14. NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
15. Time-served electrical tradesperson.
16. Strong electrical experience in an industrial/heavy plant environment.
17. 17th or 18th Edition.
18. Excellent understanding of Health & Safety and safe working practices.
19. Solid communication and teamwork skills.
20. Good IT skills (Word, Excel, Outlook).
21. Full UK Driving Licence
22. Strong fault-finding ability with a methodical approach.
23. Ability to work under pressure and meet operational deadlines.
24. Knowledge of port operations or similar industrial environments.
25. Willingness to undertake additional training
Working hours: Working hours are Monday to Friday, 08:00–16:30 from Monday to Thursday and 08:00–15:30 on Fridays and a standby rota in place where call‑out hours are paid as overtime.
