An exciting opportunity has arisen to work with the Hospital Palliative Care Team based in Forth Valley Royal Hospital but working across NHS Forth Valley Hospitals. The successful candidate will have previous experience as a registered nurse and be regularly involved in palliative care nursing for patients with cancer and other life limiting conditions. It is desirable that the successful candidate will have a current knowledge and experience of cancer pathways, end of life care and symptom management strategies.
You will possess excellent communication skills and be able to facilitate complex discussions with patients and their families. You will be able to demonstrate high level decision making and have an understanding of managing your own caseload and effective team working. There is a requirement to participate in ongoing teaching and audit programmes.
Essential requirements
* 1st level nurse
* Post-registration experience in cancer/palliative care nursing.
Desirable requirements
* Post registration qualification or relevant further study in oncology, a specific cancer or palliative care.
* Evidence of Advanced Communication skills training.
