Overview
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced, enthusiastic registered children’s nurse to work within the Nottingham Children’s Burns and Plastics Team. The post holder will lead the burns and plastics nurse specialists in the care of children and young people who have sustained burns and plastics injuries.
The successful candidate will join a team of specialist nurses caring for children with acute burns and plastics injuries. You will be hospital-based with responsibility to see children in inpatient and outpatient settings and to liaise with families at home. You will be a clinical and professional role model, delivering high quality clinical care and supporting the development of others.
You will be an effective team player with excellent communication skills and the ability to teach families and health professionals. You will work as part of a dynamic, forward-thinking multi-professional team, offering key opportunities to develop your career as a nurse specialist.
Responsibilities
* Lead the burns and plastics nurse specialists in the care of children and young people with burns and plastics injuries.
* See children in inpatient and outpatient settings and liaise with the wider multi-disciplinary team.
* Act as a clinical and professional role model, supporting high quality care and staff development.
* Teach and share knowledge with families, health professionals, and multi-professional staff within the hospital and community.
* Organise and prioritise a complex caseload in collaboration with multi-professional agencies.

Requirements / Qualifications
* Portfolio demonstrating continuous personal, professional and academic development.
* Recognised mentorship qualification.
* Accredited burns and plastics module or willingness to undertake in the first year of employment.
* Formal leadership/management training or relevant experience.
* Ability to provide highly specialised advice regarding all burns and plastics management.
* Experience dealing with complex safeguarding cases.
* Ability to teach multi-professional staff within hospital and community settings on burns and plastics care.
* Ability to organise and prioritise own complex caseload of children and young people with burns and plastics injuries, working with multi-professional agencies consistently.
