Mears provides temporary accommodation to asylum seekers while their claims are being assessed in three regions: Northeast, Yorkshire and Humber, Northern Ireland, and Scotland. As of May 2021, Mears supported over 19,000 service users across these regions. Mears collaborates with central and local government, registered providers, tenants, landlords, and investors to address homelessness, increase social and affordable housing, and develop specialist housing for people with care needs.
About the role
As a Plumber at our Belfast branch, you will join the repairs and maintenance team working within tenanted and void properties. You will be responsible for delivering high-standard plumbing repairs and refurbishment activities, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring safety, quality, and cost standards are met. The role involves managing tasks electronically via a handheld device (PDA), including documenting work, taking photos, managing van stock, and handling administrative tasks like leave bookings and vehicle inspections. You will utilize existing stock or procure materials as required, following standard operating procedures for purchasing and stock control.
Role Criteria:
* City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing
* Experience in a plumbing trade environment
* Full, current UK driving licence
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
All roles require candidates to have the entitlement to work in the UK; Mears does not offer visa sponsorship currently.
As part of the recruitment process, we will conduct a DBS & BPSS check and Security Clearance, requiring identification, proof of address, references, a valid passport, and proof of UK residence for the last 5 years.
To drive a Mears vehicle, candidates must be over 21, have held their licence for over 3 months, and have fewer than 9 points on their licence.

Required Qualifications:
CCN1 Core Domestic Gas Safety, Gas Craft NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, with experience in plumbing, gas servicing, and repairs to central heating systems and cookers. Ability to multi-skill is desirable.
Annual salary: up to £42,701.88
