The Role
1. Partner with senior leadership and the governing body to develop and deliver a long-term financial strategy aligned to growth objectives
2. Lead all aspects of financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting, ensuring strong financial control and sustainability
3. Take ownership of a significant transformation agenda, including systems implementation, process optimisation, and operational redesign
4. Provide strategic oversight of financial systems development, ensuring robust governance, due diligence, and stakeholder engagement
5. Act as a key advisor to senior stakeholders, auditors, and external bodies
6. Drive value for money through effective procurement, contract negotiation, and cost optimisation
7. Lead and develop the finance function, fostering a high-performing and collaborative team culture
8. Contribute to wider organisational leadership, with oversight of linked operational areas
9. Identify opportunities for income generation, funding, and financial innovation

Essential Criteria
10. Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA or equivalent)
11. Proven experience in a senior finance leadership role within a complex organisation
12. Strong track record in financial strategy, planning, and reporting
13. Experience managing large, multi-million-pound budgets
14. Demonstrable experience leading transformation initiatives (systems, operations, or organisational change)
15. Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at senior level
16. Commercial mindset, with the ability to drive efficiencies and identify funding opportunities
17. Collaborative and adaptable leadership style aligned to a values-driven culture
