About the Role
The Colte Partnership has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and proactive qualified practice nurse to join the team based at Rowhedge and University of Essex Medical Centre. This position is offered on a part-time basis for 15 hours per week.
Working in an experienced multidisciplinary team, the practice nurse will have the ability to carry out the following:
* Specific condition management (e.g., diabetes, asthma, etc.)
* ECGs
* Wound care and dressings
* Immunisations
* Travel vaccinations
* Child immunisations
* Contraception
* Cervical cytology
* Removal of sutures/clips
* Stock management
* Infection control
Rowhedge offers a unique opportunity to develop expertise in student health alongside general practice. Rowhedge is a split-site practice with a campus-based health centre and a dispensing village practice and is a pilot site for Pride in Practice. The practice consists of an established team of 4 partners and 5 salaried GPs.

About the Candidate
All applicants should have the following qualifications, registrations, skills, and experience:
* A relevant nursing degree.
* Current NMC registration with an active PIN.
* Competence to undertake asthma, COPD, and diabetic clinics and reviews, holding relevant certificates.
* Evidence of clinical skills and experience in treatment room consultation, phlebotomy, ECG recording, screening, management of long-term conditions, cervical cytology sampling, vaccinations and immunisations, assisting with minor surgery, dressing and wound care, and recording spirometry.
* Compassionate manner with an empathetic approach and demonstrable kindness in all aspects of your work. The successful candidate will value the dignity of our patients, their relatives, and carers, as well as their colleagues at the practice.
* Knowledge and experience of supporting long-term conditions.
* Insight and understanding of current issues in nursing and the wider NHS.
About Us
The Colte Partnership was formed in June 2017, consisting of 9 local practices across Colchester and Tendring, caring for approximately 95,000 patients.
We also work as two collaborative Primary Care Networks (PCNs) which span across Colchester and Tendring:
* Riverside Medical Centre & Ardleigh Surgery
* Mersea Island Medical Practice, Tiptree Medical Centre & Rowhedge Medical Centre
* Walton Medical Centre, Colne Medical Centre & Wivenhoe Medical Centre
There is a wide socio-economic and demographic served within this area, providing an interesting and varied case mix. You will be joining an enthusiastic team of clinicians and administrators, supported with ongoing professional development (training support, CPD, and peer support). The role will contribute to the improving quality of care for our patients across the network of practices.
