History Teacher – Outstanding School – Surrey
An Outstanding Ofsted-rated secondary school in Surrey seeks a dedicated and knowledgeable History Teacher to join their thriving and highly successful Humanities department. This is a full-time, permanent position, teaching across Key Stages 3 and 4 (with potential for Key Stage 5 teaching for a suitably experienced candidate).
Responsibilities:
* Plan and deliver engaging and challenging History lessons that foster critical thinking, source analysis, and a deep understanding of the past.
* Cover a range of historical periods and topics, adhering to the National Curriculum and preparing students for GCSE and potentially A-Level examinations.
* Develop students' historical skills, including research, interpretation, argumentation, and essay writing.
* Create a stimulating and inclusive classroom environment that encourages debate and intellectual curiosity.
* Assess student progress rigorously and provide detailed, constructive feedback.
* Contribute to the ongoing development of the History curriculum and departmental resources.
* Teaching within an Outstanding school
Requirements:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
* A degree in History or a closely related field.
* Proven experience teaching History at the secondary level, with a track record of excellent student outcomes.
* Strong 1 subject knowledge and a passion for history.
* Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
