We are seeking a reliable and skilled Class 2 Skip Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods and materials safely and efficiently. This role requires excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of vehicle operation, and the ability to navigate various driving conditions. The Driver will play a crucial role in ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism.
start. (Minimum 9 hour shift)
Transport required due to location.
Training can be given if required.
We also have roles for Class 2 dust and Class 2 RORO drivers
Duties
* Operate skip, dust or RORO vehicles (you do not require all skills)
* Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in good working order and report any mechanical issues.
* Communicate effectively with warehouse staff and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
* Load and unload goods safely, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage during transit.
* Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery confirmations.
* Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving to ensure safety on the road.
* Provide excellent customer service by being courteous and professional during all interactions.
Experience
* Previous experience as a Class 2 skip driver preferred.
* Familiarity with commercial driving regulations and best practices is essential.
* Experience working in a warehouse environment is beneficial, particularly in relation to loading and unloading procedures.
* A valid driving licence appropriate for the vehicle type is required, along with any necessary endorsements for commercial driving.
