Job Description Duties of the grinder will be to manufacture camshafts, crankshafts, tooling and a variety of other engine components for super/hyper car manufacturers. Set & operate CNC and manual grinding machines, select and mount appropriate cutting tools required for the operations. Perform quality control checks using a variety of measurement equipment. Inspect and maintain machinery, tooling and equipment to ensure parts produced conform to specification and minimize production downtime. The Role Set and operate CNC grinding machines (Junker & Kellenburger) Be able to set and operate manual grinding machines (cylindrical & surface) Manufacture/modify cams, cranks to support internal/external engine development programs along with any other component that needs a grinding process. Be able to use measuring equipment to ensure component compliance, (gauges, CMM’s Adcole) Perform basic TPM on all equipment including cleaning and lubrication. Mentor and instruct Juniors & apprentices to perform manufacturing operations when required. Be active with the introduction of new equipment and process changes. Be committed to continuous improvement and suggest improvements regarding methods, processes, and tooling. Fulfil any other reasonable requirement consistent with departmental objectives.
