Beaumont Court are recruiting a 2nd person to work with our maintenance team.
You will be responsible for carrying out general maintenance and small projects within a busy care home.
Hours 40 hours over 5 days per week including weekends
You will work with the Home Manager and other staff members to ensure day to day maintenance and improvement on the fabric of the building, its services and the grounds, in order to provide a safe environment for residents, visitors and staff.
* To maintain a current knowledge of current Health and Safety regulations.
* Carry out regular safety audits as required and document the results
* Provide an 'On call' element to the role for advice and action in the event of an emergency (this will be out of hours and shared with one other)
* Report and action any known defects to appliances, damaged furniture / equipment and any other potential hazards and carry out procurement of replacement items whilst maintaining cost/value ratios to agreed standards
* To plan, cost and carry out some infrastructure projects as required
* Carry out any decoration in all areas as and when required in order to maintain standard of the home.
* Test the fire alarm system, and log the results weekly. Check call points, fire exits, door retaining devices and fire emergency lights, as specified in Company procedures.
* Supporting management with fire drills and maintenance of records
* Test, and record, water temperatures as specified in Company procedures and as required for Legionella control.
* Maintain a "Maintenance Book" in which defects are recorded by Staff Members. Use this book to effect repairs/replacements daily.
* Liaise with outside contractors
* To maintain the grounds and exterior to a high standard
* To arrange and supervise contractors to carry out servicing/works as required
* To carry out training as required
