Reporting directly to the Financial Controller in a centralised Group finance function, the role will be Finance Business Partner. We are seeking a commercially minded individual to join our dynamic finance team. This key role will support the UK operations of our recruitment business by delivering insightful financial analysis, partnering with senior stakeholders, and ensuring robust month-end financial control. Key responsibilities:
1. Financial Reporting & Control
* Full ownership of the UK month-end close process, including preparation and submission of management accounts.
* Perform and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
* Deliver detailed variance analysis comparing actual performance to budgets and reforecasts, with commentary and actionable insights.
2. Business Partnering
* Lead and deliver quarterly finance reviews with senior business leaders and local directors across the UK & Ireland.
* Provide commercial insight and financial guidance to non-finance stakeholders, enabling informed strategic decisions.
* Support local teams in understanding key drivers of performance and areas of financial opportunity or risk.
3. Cost Line Ownership
* Own and manage cost lines within the UK P&L.
* Build strong relationships with cost centre owners, facilitating regular meetings to review spend, identify trends, and forecast future costs.
* Ensure clear visibility and challenge of discretionary spend to drive cost efficiency.
4. Forecasting & Budgeting
* Support the annual budget and rolling forecast processes, with a particular focus on overheads and central costs.
* Collaborate with operational teams to align financial forecasts with business strategy.
5. Team Development
* Act as a mentor and day-to-day support for the Assistant Management Accountant, encouraging growth through coaching, review of deliverables, and skills development.
Key Requirements:
* Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent) with 2+ years PQE.
* Previous experience in a finance business partnering or management accounting role, ideally within a multi-entity or global matrix environment.
* Proven ability to analyse complex financial data and communicate insights clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
* Advanced Excel skills; experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) is advantageous.
* Confident communicator, relationship-builder and team player with a continuous improvement mindset.
