Position Overview:
We are looking for a talented Company Accountant to manage financial activities, ensure compliance with regulations, and contribute to the overall financial health of our nonprofit organisation. Responsibilities:
1. Financial Management:
2. Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
3. Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions in accordance with nonprofit accounting standards.
4. Grant Compliance:
5. Manage and monitor grants, ensuring compliance with donor requirements and reporting deadlines.
6. Collaborate with program managers to track and report on grant-funded initiatives.
7. Audit and Compliance:
8. Prepare for and support annual financial audits, liaising with external auditors.
9. Ensure compliance with nonprofit regulatory requirements and reporting obligations.
10. Budgeting and Planning:
11. Work closely with department heads to develop and manage annual budgets.
12. Provide financial insights and analysis to support strategic planning and decision-making.
13. Financial Systems:
14. Utilise and maintain financial systems to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
15. Provide training and support to staff on financial systems usage.
Qualifications:
16. Professional certification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) is desirable.
17. Experience in nonprofit accounting and a strong understanding of fund accounting principles.
18. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Excel.
19. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
20. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
