Prospero Teaching are seeking a compassionate, creative, and experienced SEN Tutor to support a delightful young learner transitioning from Year 5 to Year 6. This role involves delivering 12 hours of tailored tuition per week, spread across four flexible days, in 3-hour sessions.
About the Learner:
Age/Stage: Transitioning into Year 6, currently working at a Year 2 level.
Needs: Has an EHCP, with diagnoses of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Global Learning Delay.
Personality: Described as friendly, excitable, and extremely loving.
Learning Profile:
Enjoys numbers and maths-related games.
Finds Maths particularly challenging, requiring creative and supportive approaches.

As an SEN Tutor, you will:
Each tutoring placement is unique, but typically involves:
Delivering personalised tutoring sessions in core subjects (Maths and English)
Building trust and rapport through engaging activities before introducing structured learning
Identifying gaps in knowledge and tailoring lessons to suit individual needs
Creating engaging, practical and positive lessons, with lots of opportunities to praise the young person and encourage them in their learning.
About you:
We're looking for Tutors who are:
Experience working with children with ASD, Global Learning Delay, and EHCPs.
Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet the learner's individual needs.
Strong understanding of KS1 curriculum, especially in Maths and English.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting SEN learners.
Ability to make learning fun, interactive, and confidence-building.Position - SEN Tutor

Essential & Desirable Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 years experience working within UK schools- ESSENTIAL
- Experience of working with learners with SEN- ESSENTIAL

Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
Provide references upon request
Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
