The opportunity
We're looking for a Finance Manager to join our Finance Operations team on an 18‑month maternity cover basis. Reporting into the Senior Finance Manager, this role plays a key part in supporting accounting and reporting activities, ensuring the accuracy and consistency of financial data, and partnering closely with both internal and external stakeholders.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional who enjoys operating in a fast‑paced environment, influencing decision‑making, and contributing to strong financial governance within a regulated organisation.
Your new role
As a Finance Manager, you'll support the delivery of high‑quality financial, statutory and regulatory reporting, while providing insight and guidance to senior stakeholders across the business. You'll be instrumental in budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis activities, helping the business understand performance and make informed commercial decisions.
You'll also play an important role in maintaining robust financial controls, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, and driving continuous improvement across finance processes and systems.
Main responsibilities:
* Review and prepare accurate financial Group Management reports in line with internal and external requirements.
* Analyse management and statutory reports, providing meaningful insights into business performance.
* Ensure a consistent, effective suite of financial reports that enable management to monitor profitability and performance.
* Maintain accurate accounting records in line with internal procedures and statutory requirements.
* Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and code of conduct obligations.
* Provide high‑level financial advice, guidance and insight to support decision‑making across the business.
* Manage the production of accurate financial returns for internal and external bodies, including regulators, ensuring deadlines are met.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including internal and external auditors.
* Identify opportunities for systems improvements, process enhancements and innovation within finance operations.
About you
You're a confident finance professional with a strong foundation in accounting, reporting and financial analysis, and you're comfortable working with senior stakeholders in a regulated environment. You bring a commercial mindset, strong attention to detail, and the ability to balance multiple priorities while meeting tight deadlines.
You enjoy working collaboratively, can adapt quickly to change, and are motivated by delivering high‑quality outcomes that support the wider business.
Skills and experience you'll need:
* Relevant finance or accounting work experience.
* Experience in financial analysis and reporting.
* Strong understanding of financial controls, compliance and governance.
* Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to non‑finance stakeholders.
* Experience within insurance, banking or financial services, including audit exposure.
* Experience managing relationships with senior internal and external stakeholders.
* Understanding of project lifecycles and process methodologies.
* Experience identifying and implementing systems or process improvements.
