And now, we’re looking for an Ecological Clerk of Works (ECoW) who wants to be part of that.
This isn’t another churn‑and‑burn site role. It’s your chance to:
* Take ownership of your projects and build long-term, meaningful experience
* Access real training, mentoring, and support toward specialist licences and chartership
* Work across some of the most exciting ecological and environmental projects in the North of Scotland
What you’ll be doing
* Leading ecological audits and on-site environmental checks
* Delivering toolbox talks and guiding contractors with confidence
* Producing clear, accurate site reports, EMPs, and Species Protection Plans
* Balancing fieldwork, reporting, and stakeholder communication
* Working everywhere from remote wild landscapes to active construction sites
What we’re looking for
* 4+ years’ experience in ECoW work or ecological consultancy
* Degree in Ecology, Environmental Management, or a related discipline
* Solid understanding of Scottish/UK environmental legislation
* CIEEM membership (or working towards it – AEECoW is a bonus)
* Solid habitat and protected species knowledge
* Full UK driving licence & access to own vehicle (4x4/off‑road experience is a plus)
* Confident communicator with strong reporting and organisational skills
