Yard Operative with HGV Class 2 Licence – Travis Perkins, Bridgend (CF31 3YY)

Drive your career forward with Travis Perkins We're looking for a Yard Operative who also holds a Class 2 HGV licence to join our Bridgend branch. This is a varied role where you'll work primarily in the yard, supporting customers and maintaining a safe, efficient operation, while also driving our Class 2 vehicle to cover holiday and sickness absence. HIAB training will be provided.

What will you be doing
This is a dual-role position:
Yard Operative Responsibilities
* Serving and supporting customers in the yard
* Loading/unloading vehicles safely
* Maintaining stock, yard standards, and a safe working environment
* Working collaboratively with the branch team
* HGV Driving Responsibilities
* Driving a Class 2 vehicle to deliver building materials to local customers
* Covering driving duties during holidays and sickness
* Using the HIAB to load your vehicle (training provided)
* Making around 14 drops per day, ensuring safe, compliant, and professional delivery
* Returning to the branch to reload as required
Who you are
* Class 2 (Category C) licence holder with up-to-date CPC
* Held a Category B licence for 12+ months
* Yard or warehouse experience is beneficial but not essential
* Customer-focused, confident, and professional
* Safety-conscious with a positive, proactive approach
* HIAB experience is a bonus, but if you don't have it, we'll train you
