Job Summary
Key Responsibilities:
1. Perform planned maintenance and electrical safety inspections on patient care and support equipment according to standards.
2. Manage assigned equipment and schedule servicing.
3. Conduct pre-acceptance inspections and develop preventive maintenance procedures; maintain related documentation.
4. Ensure test equipment is calibrated and functioning properly.
5. Respond promptly to clinical department calls to evaluate and resolve issues.
6. Research and order repair parts within budget constraints.
7. Maintain purchase order logs and validate invoices.
8. Provide informal training to equipment users and staff as needed.
9. Recommend service strategies to the Department Manager and inform supervisor of activities and issues.
10. Participate in Quality Improvement and Risk Management programs.
11. Maintain an organized and functional work environment.
12. Provide emergency on-call services as required.
13. Document all asset-related actions in line with department practices.
14. Participate in departmental meetings and collaborate with technical staff on updates and device issues.
Qualifications:
1. Associates degree in electronics/biomedical equipment technology, military training, or equivalent experience.
2. At least 3 years of servicing clinical/patient care equipment in a hospital setting.
3. Valid driver’s license required for travel positions.
4. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
5. Strong communication and customer service skills.
6. Good organizational and time management skills.
7. Working knowledge of computer applications for tracking service histories and reporting assets.
8. Effective troubleshooting skills.
9. Willingness to serve on-call as needed.
10. Strong work ethic and team-oriented attitude.
