As part of our ongoing growth and commitment to service excellence, we are seeking to appoint a strategic and commercially astute Business Care Manager to oversee financial operations, support workforce planning, and drive sustainable development across the business. Role Summary The Care Business Manager will be responsible for the effective financial and operational management of the service. Working in close partnership with the Registered Manager, this role will lead the implementation of business strategies that ensure regulatory compliance, financial sustainability, and the delivery of outstanding care. The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader with demonstrable experience in business management within the health or social care sector. Key Responsibilities Lead the business development function in line with strategic goals, identifying and pursuing opportunities for growth and diversification. Manage the organisation’s financial performance, including budget setting, financial forecasting, and cost control, ensuring alignment with targets set by the Franchise Owner. Oversee customer contracts and commissioning processes, supporting income generation aligned to a sustainable business model. Monitor key operational costs, including mileage, travel time, agency expenditure, and staff hours, to ensure cost-efficiency. Oversee the Visa Sponsorship programme, supporting international recruitment, settlement processes, and ongoing staff welfare. Collaborate with the Registered Manager to manage workforce performance in accordance with HR policies and procedures. Ensure accurate monitoring and reporting of staffing levels, guaranteed hours, staff availability, and absence trends. Supervise payroll operations in partnership with the Finance Administrator, including pay rates, pension contributions, and statutory deductions. Manage digital care systems (e.g. OneTouch) for visit verification, invoicing, expense tracking, and care record management. Ensure the maintenance and safety of office premises, equipment, vehicles, and temporary accommodation for live-in or sponsored staff. Uphold compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, company policies, and sector standards (including CQC). Participate in the on-call rota and provide leadership support during emergencies or unplanned staff absences. Deputise for the Registered Manager during periods of absence, ensuring continuity of leadership and service delivery. Person Specification Essential: Extensive experience within the social care or healthcare sector. Strong commercial acumen with a proven track record in business development and financial management. Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Demonstrable leadership and team management capabilities. Knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practices. High level of organisational, planning, and negotiation skills. Ability to analyse data and implement strategic decisions effectively. Full UK driving licence (maximum of 6 points). Clear enhanced DBS disclosure (or willingness to obtain one). Desirable: Previous experience of setting up new services or managing service expansion. Working knowledge of CQC regulations and digital care planning platforms. Experience with international recruitment and sponsorship procedures.
