We have an exciting opportunity for an Mental Health Nurse to join our Primary Care team at HMP Wakefield, a category A Prison located in West Yorkshire.
Hours
7‑day service: Monday‑Friday 08:00‑16:00 or 08:00‑18:00, Saturday‑Sunday 08:30‑16:30. 18:00 finish. Weekend duties and bank holidays are shared across the team. No night shifts.
Salary
Full‑time position with an annual salary up to £40,500 per annum, depending on experience.

Main duties of the job
 * Work within a multi‑disciplinary team carrying out comprehensive assessments, initiating and reviewing care plans, and developing treatment options.
 * Undertake medication rounds, and assess and treat patients who may have experienced trauma and may be distressed.
 * Assess patients’ health needs using an evidence‑based framework and conduct risk assessments using sound clinical knowledge, as well as open, maintain, close and partake in reviews of individuals managed under the Prison Suicide and Self‑Harm risk management system known as Assessment, Care in Custody and Teamwork (ACCT).
Qualifications required
 * NMC registered Mental Health Nurse
 * Evidence of Continued Professional Development
 * Understanding of the complexities of multi‑disciplinary and multi‑agency working
 * A non‑judgmental and compassionate approach
 * Excellent communication skills
Experience (Desirable)
While not essential, applicants with experience in a hospital, community or prison environment will be highly regarded.
