Candidate Profile:
* High Voltage Engineering Background: A solid academic or professional qualification in HV Engineering is preferred. Candidates should demonstrate a strong grasp of HV systems, electrical installations (especially at 132kV), and related technical fields.
* Industry Expertise & Network: Significant experience within the HV sector, with a proven track record of establishing and maintaining valuable industry connections. Strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and industry professionals are essential.
* Financial Skills: Ability to analyze financial performance, interpret key metrics, and leverage financial data for strategic decisions. Proficiency in budgeting, cost management, and profit maximization is required.
* Strategic Leadership: Experience in developing and implementing business strategies aligned with company goals, driving expansion, and exploring new opportunities.
* Commercial Acumen: Deep knowledge of technical and business aspects of HV projects, with skills in risk management, contract optimization, and profitability enhancement.
* Leadership & Team Management: Proven ability to lead senior teams across functions, inspire, guide, and unify teams to meet organizational objectives.
Primary Responsibilities:
* Operational Leadership: Manage daily division operations, ensuring efficient project execution, resource allocation, and performance, while maintaining quality and cost-effectiveness.
* Business Development & Growth: Define and execute strategies to expand market presence, diversify revenue streams, and strengthen client relationships.
* Industry Engagement: Represent the organization at industry events, foster external relationships, and develop client partnerships to generate repeat and new business.
* Financial Oversight: Collaborate on budget development, monitor financial performance, and provide data-driven recommendations for improvement.
* Technical & Compliance: Serve as the Authorising Officer for NERS Accreditation, ensuring compliance with safety and technical standards, and provide technical support as needed.
* Contract & Commercial Management: Oversee contractual negotiations, risk mitigation, and project profitability, ensuring effective management of major projects and tenders.
* Leadership & Strategy: Lead the senior leadership team, set objectives, foster a high-performance culture, and align divisional strategies with corporate goals.
Core Competencies & Expertise:
* HV System Knowledge: Expertise in HV electrical installations, especially at 132kV, with a focus on safety and regulatory compliance.
* Contract & Project Management: Extensive experience managing large-scale projects with multiple stakeholders, from inception to completion.
* Attention to Detail: Strong analytical skills in technical, financial, and contractual areas.
* Communication Skills: Effective engagement with clients, teams, and external partners, ensuring clarity in technical and commercial discussions.
