Principal Jetty / Coastal Engineer
KBR’s global business comprises two main segments – Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) and Government Solutions (GS). This role sits within STS in the Integrated Solutions business unit. Integrated Solutions is the engineering and project delivery group providing services which include front-end and detailed engineering, procurement, construction services, and program management primarily in the hydrocarbons and energy transition industries.
As a Principal Technical Professional – Jetty / Coastal Engineering, you will support the lead engineer related preparation of engineering deliverables within the scope assigned. For a number of the topics there must be a Subject Matter Expert level of expertise.
Marine facilities
1. Feedstock and product import/export jetties
2. MOF for equipment and bulk materials
3. Cooling water intake and outfall structures and pipelines
4. Coastal protection
5. Breakwaters
Feasibility, concept and preliminary design
6. Metocean data assessment
7. Jetty location and orientation
8. Jetty substructure type selection
9. Construction methodologies
10. Specifications for materials and construction
11. Surveys and studies - specification, scopes of work and supervision
12. Modelling – e.g. ship navigation, mooring analysis, sediment transportation, scour, etc
13. Dredging
Detailed design and construction
14. Detailed studies – e.g. physical model testing
15. Lead/coordinate – internal disciplines, multiple design centres, specialist subcontractors and consultants
16. Design supervision
17. Inspection of fabrication/materials
18. Site construction oversight/inspection
19. Commissioning
The work will involve liaising with client and 3rd party contractors and coordinating and working with project team members across global offices to deliver the tasks within allotted timelines and budgets.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
20. First or higher degree in Structural Engineering or Naval Architectural.
21. Experienced in Conceptual, FEED and detailed engineering of jetty / coastal structure.
22. In-depth knowledge of latest revisions of applicable design codes is a must.
23. Ability to work efficiently and effectively when managing multiple tasks.
24. Ability to work both independently and in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
25. Ability to work in an office-based role.
