Key Responsibilities
1. To provide the highest level of personal care (toileting, bathing, dressing etc) and attention to residents, following individual care plans carefully and ensuring that all contact is polite, friendly, warm and supportive.
2. To act as a key worker for a named group of residents, ensuring that these responsibilities are carried out in full.
3. To understand and comply with requirements like Health & Safety, COSHH, Infection Control, Fire Safety, Health & Social Care Act, to maintain a safe environment throughout the home.
4. To always be alert to residents physical and mental well being, immediately reporting any changes in a resident's condition to a senior person on duty, and to accurately maintain and update residents' records as required.
5. To respect and maintain confidentiality of resident's personal information at all times, this includes resident's behaviour and actions and any incidents that may occur in the course of day to day care.
6. Be understanding and patient towards residents and their needs, and encourage, assist and support residents to participate in leisure activities as appropriate to the individual, ensuring their social and emotional needs are met.
7. Tidying resident's rooms (with the resident's permission), undertaking cleaning duties as needed and generally assisting in ensuring that the Home is kept clean, pleasant and welcoming at all times. Making beds when residents have risen.
8. Helping to serve meals/snacks and drinks at meal times and other times when required, taking care to present meals and refreshments in an attractive way, with polite and courteous service. Also, to provide the appropriate level of support and help for residents who need assistance with feeding.
9. To carry out instructions from Senior Care Staff regarding tasks to be undertaken.
10. To answer nurse alarm calls promptly and appropriately.
11. To carry out, and record, regular checks on residents throughout the night, as set by Management, and according to individual wishes of the residents.
12. Carry out regular checks on the Home; ensure windows & external doors are secure.
13. To carry out any laundering, mending, darning of clothing items as required.
14. To wake residents at their preferred time & assist with washing/dressing as necessary
15. To attend mandatory training sessions as required.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: From £12.21 per hour
Expected hours: 24 – 36 per week
