Responsibilities
* The appointed consultant would be expected to contribute to the on-going service improvement programme developing:
* Getting It Right First Time (GIRFT)
* Cost Improvement programme (CIP)
* Implementing evidence based new ways of working when necessary

Qualifications
Essential
* MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
* MRCP UK (Full) or equivalent experience
Desirable
* MD/PhD or research experience.
Experience
Essential
* Full Registration and a licence to practise with the General Medical Council.
* JAG accreditation in Upper and Lower GI endoscopy.
* High quality diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy and colonoscopy
* High quality skills in general and acute medicine and ability to manage medical takes
Desirable
* Entry on GMC Specialist Register; eligible for entry on Register or within six months of receipt of CCT or CESR in Gastroenterology and General Internal Medicine at time of interview
