A leading organisation within the manufacturing sector is seeking a highly capable Accountant to join its finance team on an initial 2‑year fixed term contract. Your new role
Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, you will play a key role in supporting effective financial management across the organisation. You will be responsible for delivering accurate, timely financial information to support strategic decision‑making.
Your duties will include:
1. Reviewing and presenting monthly divisional management accounts within strict deadlines
2. Reconciling and reviewing balance sheet control accounts
3. Conducting variance and trend analysis to identify risks and opportunities
4. Reviewing statutory returns including VAT, Intrastat and VIES, ensuring fullpliance with Irish Revenue and HMRC requirements
5. Supporting the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors, preparing statutory financial statements, and resolving audit queries
6. Preparing annual budgets and rolling reforecasts
7. Partnering with operations and wider business functions to provide financial guidance and support strategic projects
8. Rmending and assisting with process improvements and strengthening financial controls, including supporting internal audit
9. Supporting system development and participating in user testing programmes
What you'll need to succeed
10. Full professional accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
11. Experience in a similar role within a fast‑paced environment; manufacturing experience is advantageous
12. Strong proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office; experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is desirable
13. A thorough understanding of GAAP/IFRS
14. Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to meet strict deadlines
15. Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities
16. Effectivemunication and interpersonal skills, with a flexible and professional approach
17. The ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
