About the Role
We are growing our electrical division to meet the ever‑increasing needs of our expanding business. To help us achieve this we are looking for an Electrical Supervisor to work within our team in the Bristol area.
You will be responsible for planning, organising and prioritising the day‑to‑day electrical support services while getting hands‑on with electrical pump installations.
As an Electrical Supervisor, you’ll get to:
* Line‑manage qualified mobile electricians and an apprentice in training (team size 6‑8).
* Recruit and induct team members with support from the Electrical Manager.
* Proactively manage absence and performance, set SMART objectives, conduct reviews and 1:1s, and address under‑performance.
* Ensure apprentices receive all required training and mentoring to complete the apprenticeship successfully.
* Assist in the calibration of all electrical test equipment and uphold quality standards.
* Ensure all electrical test certificates are completed accurately and pass BS7671 first time, every time.
* Ensure installations are completed and tested in accordance with IEE regulations.
* Maintain effective communication with managers, hire desk and the Electrical Asset & Support Manager.
* Provide regular communication on important information to the team (meetings, briefings, toolbox talks).
Qualifications & Experience
* Proven experience managing an electrical function in a supervisory capacity, raising standards and maximising productivity and client service.
* Experience in a construction/utilities industry is preferable.
* ECS Gold card with Installation or Maintenance Electrician as standard.
* A comprehensive understanding of electrical health and safety regulations.
* SSSTS‑Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme and CSCS card holder is preferable.
* IOSH Managing Safely certificate is preferable.
* Computer literacy – strong skills in Microsoft Office and Outlook.
* Ability to motivate, engage and develop a team through training, mentoring, coaching and feedback.
* Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment.
* Excellent verbal and written communication across all levels.
* A good aptitude for problem solving and decision making.
* Full driving licence (no more than 6 points) and willingness to travel and stay overnight when required.
This role is subject to a safety‑critical medical examination.
