Coachbuilder/Wood Mill Operative
An enthusiastic, adaptable, and self-motivated person is required for a key role at Morgan Motor Company Limited.
The Company:
Located in Malvern, West Midlands, Morgan Motor Company Limited is an innovative British sport car manufacturer; they have operated in a niche automotive sector since their launch in 1910.
The Role:
To work within the Wood Shop and Wood Mill machining and assembling wooden components for use in a variety of body frames and parts used across the Morgan range.
Main Duties:
While this is not an exhaustive list the main duties will include:
· To machine component parts using trencher, spindle moulder, overhead router, band saws, re-saw etc.
· To assemble wooden body frames and doors from component parts using hand tools, power tools, air tools and build fixtures.
· To assist with Apprentice training as and when necessary.
· Jig and pattern making as required.
· Supervision of work experience students if required.
· Stock taking and maintenance of stock.
· Forklift truck/handling of deliveries to wood shed if experience allows.
· Any other duties as required within the department relative to capabilities.
The Person:
An individual who will take real pride in the work they produce, ensuring our customers have the best possible experience of owning a Morgan. The ability to work within a team or individually to complete weekly production targets within standard times to the best quality. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, resourceful, flexible, and reliable as well as self-motivated with a positive outlook.
Skills, knowledge, training and experience required:
· Time served Apprenticeship in Joinery/Carpentry/Wood Machining.
· NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualifications in Joinery/Carpentry/Wood Machining or proven experience.
· Previous experience of Wood Mill environment and machinery.
· The ability to read drawings, assembly manuals and schematic diagrams.
· Previous experience of jig making would be beneficial.
· Forklift truck license would be desirable but is not essential.
