Interim Market Operations Manager
* Location: Rotherham, Fully Office-Based
* Contract: Interim with possibility of permanent opportunity
* Working Hours: 5 days per week, 37 hours, including occasional Saturdays (8:30am–5:00pm)
* Pay Rate: £21.51 per hour PAYE or £28.05 per hour via Umbrella
We are urgently seeking an Interim Market Operations Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of Rotherham’s indoor market. This role is critical due to the retirement of the previous manager and the current challenges faced by the market, including reduced footfall. The successful candidate will provide strong, hands-on leadership to stabilise operations and support the team.
Day-to-day of the role:
1. Oversee daily operations of the indoor market, ensuring smooth functioning from 8:30am to 5:00pm.
2. Lead administrative, rent collection, and manual teams, including the setup and takedown of the street market.
3. Serve as a visible, approachable presence for traders and customers, ensuring high service standards and professional dispute resolution.
4. Monitor budgets, ensuring value for money, and advise senior managers on operational issues and improvement strategies.
5. Regulate private markets, fairs, and circuses within Rotherham.
