Group Sustainability Manager 🌍
📍 Location: Colchester, UK (with travel across Group businesses)

The opportunity
As Group Sustainability Manager, you will be the strategic and operational lead for sustainability across our portfolio. This is a hands‑on, high‑impact role where you will:
* Refine and lead the Group Sustainability Strategy, ensuring alignment with ESG, Net Zero (Scopes 1, 2 & 3) and commercial priorities.
* Integrate sustainability and social value into product design, procurement, operations, and marketing across all Group businesses.
* Drive sustainable product innovation, waste reduction, circular economy practices, and responsible sourcing.
* Lead Group-wide data, reporting and governance.
* Develop dashboards and tools that provide actionable insight for senior leaders and the Board.
* Maintain a Sustainable Sourcing Directory and support ethical procurement and supplier standards.
* Work closely with Managing Directors and leadership teams to embed sustainability into commercial strategies, modernise systems, and support acquisitions and growth.
About you
You are a commercially minded sustainability professional who can balance strategic thinking with practical delivery. You bring:
* Demonstrable experience or qualification in sustainability, environmental management, ESG or responsible business leadership.
* Experience in statutory sustainability/ESG reporting at company or Group level.
* Analytical skills and the ability to turn data into clear insight.
* Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
* Experience with recognised sustainability certification frameworks would be an advantage.
Personally, you are:
* Commercially astute – able to link sustainability to business growth.
* Pragmatic structured and delivery focused.
* Collaborative and engaging, able to motivate others and build strong relationships across a diverse Group.
